It was Saturday night when the man appeared. Bam! Bam!

I woke up thinking maybe the SWAT team was here. I opened the door to see someone I recognized in front of the door, his long hair was hastily tied into a bun.

His face looking red as if he had ran all the way. “What in the name of gods?!”I yelled at him.

He replied his chest heaving “The machine…again!”

We ran all the way as no taxi driver would be crazy enough to drive in the middle of the night. I didn’t even care about my uniform so I was running (stopping to catch air every few seconds) on a deserted highway in my Batman pyjamas.

Only three other scientists were present at the laboratory. “It still isn’t here?”

Naman yelled at one of them. “Nah! it is something huge”. I took my place at a monitor in the front row. “It is getting here but the thing’s going too fast, it will explode at this rate!”

I yelled seeing the data on the ongoing telepathy. “Well slow it down!” Naman yelled.

“There is one way, but a crazy one!” yelled another scientist, Sarah one of Naman’s favourite worker at the place.

“Any time” Naman yelled looking like his throat was going sore “We would have to change the temperature of the incoming object at every atmospheric layer depending on whether the temperature goes higher or lower on each layer at decreasing altitude. Also making sure the object temperature isn’t turned too extreme as to kill it. “

“But-”Somebody interrupted.

“No time” I yelled setting the part accessible from my computer.

As we changed the temperature none of the particles appeared to be missing or damaged, the sending end must have been advanced to create something so resistant.

“It’s working” Naman said, controlling his sobbing.

We continued this for half an hour. “Finally!” I fell back into a chair.

The rest of the work would be done automatically by the machine. Everybody else too sighed, slumping against the wall or collapsing into a chair. Not Naman though, he ran towards the machine. But the machine door fell down itself. Inside was a creature that had the structure of a featureless man covered in armour, he was carrying a machine gun.
